The Best Opaque White V-Neck T-Shirts

Hi everyone!

I have been on the search for the best white tees that you can't see through! There are several articles on different blogs about other people's recommendations, which helped guide me in my purchases. Here's where I ended up:

Majestic Filatures V-Neck Tee
At $120, this is the most expensive–and most disappointing–tee that I tried. It is completely sheer. Though the fabric is soft, stretchy, and is a good length for petites, it is thin. Back to Bloomingdales it went; I don't have a photo to show you.

Aritzia Wilfred Free Dilona T-Shirt
This $40 shirt had some promise. It was an interesting, mid-weight fabric, almost like a knit. It is meant to be worn oversized, so I sized down to XS. Overall it wasn't very flattering on me, and I had the feeling the fabric would not hold up well in the washing machine. And it was a little sheer. I returned it.

Uniqlo Supima Cotton Jersey V-Neck T-Shirt
This $9.90 shirt was the winner! This is a soft, stretchy fabric that is thick. The v-neck is not too deep. It's a little longer than I'd like (maybe I'll get it shortened). I feel very confident wearing it by itself. I ordered a Medium and it fits great.

Bonus Review: Uniqlo U Crewneck T-Shirt
Not a v-neck, but recommended for its opacity! The white is another nice thick fabric. I ordered a Small and it's a little tight; next time I'll order the Medium. 

I hope this helps you in your next t-shirt purchase! As a footnote, Vince Little Boy tees are my favorite semi-sheer t-shirts, so I order them in dark colors. And if you are wondering about Everlane tees, my experience is that they are too sheer for me.

Christian Louboutin "Simple Nude" Nail Polish

Hello everyone! Today is a dreary spring day but here is my latest nail polish. I am posting because there are only a few people who have swatched this color on their blog; maybe this will help someone say "yay" or "nay" to buying it for themselves.

"Simple Nude" is a yellow-based camel color. It is not the most flattering neutral on me; I tend to favor more red-based colors. This polish is a creme that is pretty opaque. Here is 2 coats, over Rimmel London's top/base coat. After 2 coats were completely dry (overnight) I used Dior Gel top coat.

Christian Louboutin shoes come in many shades of "nude" which is appropriate since all of our skin tones are different. The nail polishes also come in a handful of "nude" colors. As you can see, "Simple Nude" closely matches one of CL's "nude" shoes in tone and shine!

No matter if your skin color is light or dark, if it has yellow undertones, this polish could be a great and flattering choice! 

It's All About the Accessories!

I've really slowed down on buying clothing recently. I have a good mix of clothing and at this point, it's just another pencil skirt, only in a different color, blah blah blah. Instead I've been focusing on accessories, from the mundane (socks and knee-highs) to the exciting (shoes!). Here are a couple of recent purchases.

A Beautiful Butterfly Wedding

My husband and I were so happy to be invited to attend a friend's outdoor wedding at The Butterfly House. We had so much fun. It was beautiful and relaxing. Here's the outfit! It's low-cut so I wore a skinny scarf for modesty's sake... the scarf had a butterfly print.

I've had this DVF dress for five years. It is very flowy and great for dancing. And I would call the color "Cerulean Blue"!

Disney World Fashionista in January

Hi there, long time, no see! Well let's get right back into it with Zealous Blonde's How to Be Fashionable at Disney World in January!

The weather really fluctuated during our 5 day stay, from freezing to mildly warm. The key was planning ahead and dressing in layers.

Finally the kind of day you hope for!  Still chilly in the morning but I was shedding layers in the afternoon sun.

Keys to being Disney World Fashionista in January:

• LAYERS!

• jeans and dresses with leggings or tights - even if it hits 80 degrees, you will be comfortable in jeans and ready for the cooler temps in the morning and evening.

• a small crossbody bag. In January, you don't need all the baggage you might want in July: giant sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. Find someone in your party already bringing a backpack or stroller and ask them to carry an item or two for you.
